Note: This is in response to a client. We all as mothers need to forgive ourselves.

Forgiveness is a process. It can take time. Guilt does make you punish yourself, stop you from receiving the love you have for your daughter and she has for you. You are not perfect and everyone makes mistakes, that does not mean you need to be punished. Like I said, sometimes saying I’m sorry over and over is the mantra that helps us heal. To yourself and your daughter…however, at the same time you had a right to be afraid, and unfortunately it turned to rage….your daughter has been out of control for a long time, and as parents we are not always sages or prophets, just human…yes, life can beat us down, question our source and the love of spirit….
and that is the journey to find our way back….to find the truth… to forgive and take responsibility with conscious choice… the past can hurt us in the present.. and healing, forgiveness, letting go is a learning. It is hard to realize you screwed up parenting.. but that does not make you wrong, or bad. or less than….This will eventually heal.. that is the one thing you need to have faith in. Spirit is always present, but Spirit wants us to learn from our actions and feelings. HE/SHE doesn’t interfere just helps us toward the truth.. guides us… to see the light….If you go inside and just feel what will relieve you? What will help you let go of the guilt… what can you allow spirit to show you that will help feel more open to love that is still there? You have more to forgive and heal from your past with your X marriage…. but you also have a whole new life that is emerging and a whole new relationship that you and your daughter are growing…?

No one is welcome into my Invisible World.
I do not receive visitors.
Visitors are messy and might hurt me.
I am safe here. I am protected.
I live here only with my cat and dog and creatures in my garden.

I do not like being ‘talked to’.
I want to escape every time someone traps me into having a conversation.
“How can I get away….how can I get away?” I keep thinking.
I hold my breath and wait for it to be over.

Relief
It is over. I am safe again.
No one to please. No one to help.
No one to be kind to.
